「We are so grateful for the care and compassion Dr. Lloyd showed our dog, Rookie. From the very beginning, she approached his case with empathy, urgency, and a true desire to help us find answers. Instead of giving up when things became complicated, she had a “let’s problem solve and figure this out together” mentality that meant so much to us during an incredibly difficult time. Moving forward with the bone marrow biopsy helped give us clarity and reassurance that everything possible was being done for our boy. Dr. Lloyd was thoughtful, compassionate, and honest every step of the way, and we always felt that Rookie was deeply cared for in her hands. We will always be thankful for the kindness and dedication she showed not only to Rookie, but to us as well.」
「This review is for their dental practice. Dr. Ulbricht was recommended to me by my cat's primary vet after a stomatitis diagnosis. Everyone I interacted with there was kind and informative. Dr. Ulbricht was very thorough in doing pre-surgery testing, which gave me a lot of confidence about Cicero's procedure. I was quite anxious on drop-off day, but they were very clear about what was happening and what to expect, which helped ease my anxiety. His full mouth extraction went well, and they held my kitty overnight for monitoring. I definitely felt like he was getting the best care he could get! Cicero has a couple more post-procedure check-ins with them, but has been doing very well just a few days later. Overall, I would absolutely reccomended their dental practice to anyone. I felt like they really cared about pet and owner alike! They do accept CareCredit too, though be sure you understand how that type of debt works before you take it on! The price will be higher here than your "average" vet, but my kitty got the best of care and it was well worth it.」
「My cat came in the house with a wound on her neck. I was worried about my Kitty so I took her to AVS. It took a while to be seen. This is an Emergency Veterinarian Service so they take the sickest animals first, I saw a lot of them while I waited, it made me so grateful that they're not far from where I live. They take excellent care of the animals.」
「Had to bring my dog in on a Sunday for some emergency stitches. I found this place from 1 of 3 recommendations on my vet's (My Best Friend – Olivette) after hours recording. From the original call with the person who answered the phone, to the triage with the tech once we were seen, to the Vet examination, to the post surgery explanation from the Vet, my wife and I couldn't be more pleased with this experience. I never write reviews but was happy to share our experience. The pricing was explained upfront and seemed very fair. They actually over estimated which was a nice surprise. The doctor seemed very skilled and compassionate. They also have a candle next to a framed note on the front counter that states "If this candle is lit, someone is saying goodbye to their beloved pet" I thought that was a great way to let others in the waiting room know to be considerate of others going through a difficult time. All of the staff was great! Later I found out that several of our friends have used this hospital and recommend it too.」
「We were referred here for a bone marrow biopsy from a different clinic. After completing the biopsy, we finally had an answer to the cause and I was relieved to know there was a treatment plan moving forward. I was under the impression that this “specialty doctor” had additional information about medications/etc for my dogs condition. Instead, a very similar medication line up was recommended, one that we had already been trialing for a month with our primary vet with no success. I tried calling multiple times to discuss options and relay my hesitancy with the current treatment plan, but instead I was shut down and told that things take time. Our appointment was moved back after my dog was hospitalized, and there was still no communication. My primary vet called to try and clarify as she heard my frustration. But still, no change and we were supposed to give it more time. This specific doctor at this clinic was not only dismissive, but he also replied with sarcasm and was rude because I had so many questions when speaking to him over the phone. Despite my many efforts to change the plan of care, the time that we were supposed to give her did not work and she passed away this past weekend and did not make it to her appointment on Monday. I am thankful for our hometown vet for making her comfortable during her last hours. I will never be taking another pet to Associated Veterinary Specialists again.」
